The Irish Mammy aka Cathriona McKiernan is a self trained chef and former restaurant owner. She has a passion for growing vegetables and this has been the catalyst for learning old fashioned preserving skills and making them work using modern technology! Water bath and pressure canning are two of the preserving methods that she will talk through and answer questions on. She will list equipment required and provide information on further resources and suppliers, as well as the suitability of each method for different applications. She will also talk through safety precautions which are probably what put most people off canning. She will show you how easy it is when you get the hang of it.
